Contenuti

This book contains the complete body of the graphic works of Alberto Burri (Città di Castello 1915 - Nice 1995), the undoubted leading player in the Italian artistic scenario in the second half of the 20th century. The catalogue carefully reproduces the copperplate prints, lithographs and works printed on paper  by the artist between 1950 and 1994, and is an indispensable tool for those wishing to get to know the still little known aspects of Burri's output  and understand the creative origins of his works. Throughout the second half  of the century, the artist dedicated himself to graphics, reflected by the parallel experience as a painter, and his artistic research and experiments  are irreplaceable, as the printers personally involved in the production  of the works recall in the special interviews with them. The book therefore offers the public and specialists a segment of Burri's artistic production which,  due to its original innovations in terms of expression and technique, has to be regarded as a fundamental factor in the artist's creative sphere.
